Why is the light in the hood not lit?

There are several reasons why a light bulb may not light:

• She has ended the service life.
• A short circuit has occurred.

• Damaged cartridge.
• Blown wiring.

Short circuit

A short circuit could occur. Inspect the wires visually. If no external damage is found, test the power lines with a multimeter to find the short circuit in the hidden wiring.

If a short circuit occurs, locate the damaged area and repair.

Power overload

Perhaps you have incorrectly divided the network load between other household items, or a faulty equipment is connected to the network. There are several solutions to this problem:

• Increase the rating of the machine if the cable section allows.
• Install several additional outlets.
• If you have an outdated machine installed, replace it.
• If you use tees, exchange them for extension cords.

Perhaps a turbine (fan) is installed in the hood. Due to this voltage becomes insufficient and the light does not work.

Dirt or moisture

Cartridge

• The contacts are damaged.

In the first case, bend the cartridge to return to the correct position. In the second, we just clean it. In the third, we repair the joints.

If the cartridge is completely burnt out, replace the part. To do this, you need:

1. Separate the conductors (as shown in the photo), and remove the lamp.
2. Remove all glass shades.
3. Unscrew the cartridge and disconnect from the wires.
4. Remove the base.
5. Replace cartridge. To do this, connect the phase to the center pin in the base and zero to the second.

1. Find a burnt wire. First of all, check the one that is inside the lamp. This wire is the thinnest, because with a probability of 90%, it was he who burned out. Replace the burnt wire.

Broken switch

There are two reasons:

• The circuit breaker has blown.
• Contacts are dirty.

How to replace a light bulb
