A number of mistakes by Bosch washing machines are advisory in nature. You can try to reset them by rebooting the control system, and then successfully continue washing. But there are also critical ones that require an instant response. F31 belongs to the family of just such nasty codes, so if you notice an error, urgently take action.
F31 indicates that there is too much water in the drum. Perhaps the machine does not drain water at all, or the process of draining and collecting water is stuck. When overflowing, you will notice other unpleasant signs: a threatening puddle can form under the machine.

As soon as a critical code appears on the display, immediately do the following:
- Turn off the wash program. You can also try to start the drain from the control panel;
- Disconnect the machine;
- Block the pipe from which water is drawn;
- Carefully disconnect the drain hose and drain the water manually. After that it will be possible to open the drum and get the laundry.
What do you need to check?
Next, we proceed to the diagnosis of the malfunction. There may be several reasons for the error:
- Problems installing a water drain hose: it is too low or too high. In this case, there is not enough water pressure;
- The filter that is installed in front of the drain hose is clogged. Unscrew the latter, rinse it under good pressure, clean the filter mesh;
- The hose has twisted - be convinced that nothing interferes with its free arrangement;
- The problem is outside the machine - the sewer is clogged. In this case, call the plumbing.
The steps above did not help reset the code F31? We urgently contact the master. You may need to replace or repair the water pressure sensor (pressure switch), the pump that is responsible for draining, the control module, or the wiring.
